GE’s Heavy Civil division recently completed a rehabilitation project on the 3rd Street Bridge in Louisville, Nebraska. GE used shotcrete to repair the concrete piers and completed other associated work. GE is shotcrete certified through the American Shotcrete Association.
"Shotcrete is a method of applying concrete projected at high velocity primarily on to a vertical or overhead surface. The impact created by the application consolidates the concrete.” The shotcrete process produces a material that exhibits superior hardened properties to high-quality conventional concrete, such as high strength, low permeability, and high durability, according to the American Shotcrete Association. GE has assisted the cities of Lincoln, Grand Island, Fremont, and others on the rehabilitation of bridges with shotcrete.
